I would like to thank you for choosing our wines Lote44.
My family has grown vines and made wines for four generations. This legacy of passion for winemaking has been passed on from father to son since my grand grand father Nicolas Catena arrived from Italy and planted his first vineyard in the early 1900.
My father, Jorge Catena and my uncle Nicolas worked together in producing the best wines of Argentina for over 30 years and just a couple of years ago they decided to follow different paths.
In 2006 we started a small project called Ricominciare and in 2008 after long conversations with my father I started my own project in order to complement our Ricominciare wines and be able to offer a best value wine to our loyal clients. This way CUARTO DOMINIO was born.
Lote44 Malbec and Pinot Grigio wines are produced out of grapes coming from high altitude vineyards from the Uco Valley. Then they are pressed and vinified in stainless steel tanks and finally aged for four months in oak barrels for our Malbec.
Lote 44 Malbec presents a dark purple color with violet highlights, black cherry aromas with light floral notes and a touch of toast, while it is full and rich in mouth with black raspberry fruit flavors and sweet spices from light oak aging.
Lote 44 Pinot Grigio captures all of the explosive aromatic character of this variety with lively notes of citrus and peach fruit interwoven with delicate layers of jasmine and fresh herbs, light and fresh on the palate with excellent balance and finishing.
